Alice Krige was born in Upington, South Africa on June 28, 1954. She grew up in what she describes as a "very happy family." Interestingly, Krige also grew up without television, something which the actress calls a "huge black hole in my education" (South Africa didn't get telvision until the year Alice left the country in the mid 1970s).With dual degrees in psychology and drama, Krige set out to establish her acting career in London. What followed is a career that can best be described as an eclectic mix of film, television and theater (you may remember Krige most for her feature film debut in 1981's Academy Award winning Best Picture Chariots of Fire, and more recently for her role as the Borg Queen in 1996's Star Trek: First Contact).
