Universal studios has finally announced the name of "The Mummy" sequel and a release date. "The Mummy Returns" on May 11, 2001.
AV Con 2001 will be held in L.A. during the opening weekend of the film. Details to come in the next couple of months.

South African actor and star of "The Mummy", Arnold Vosloo will be playing a "darklighter" in tomorrow night's episode of the WB's "Charmed". The episode features Vosloo in a rare television appearance. He will be appearing in his familiar Mummy guise, as his head is already shaven in preparation for filming of "The Mummy 2" due in theatres May, 2001.

Filming on The Mummy 2 is to commence in May 2000. This according to sources at "Ain't it Cool News". Mr. Vosloo will be reprising his role as Imhotep. Rumour mills are speculating that Anck-su-namun (Patricia Velasquez) will have a larger part this time around and actually be the Mummy referenced in the title!

ARNOLD VOSLOO quickly established a fine reputation as an actor in his native South Africa, winning several awards there for his theatre work, including More Is In Lang Dag, Don Juan and Torch Song Trilogy. A regular performer with South Africa's State Theatre, he also played leading roles in Savages, Twelfth Night and Hamlet.
