 Lei Day Extravaganza
From our friend Aunty Leilehua in Hilo,
Hey, everybody! Remember, This weekend is Lei Day!!!!!
If you are in Hilo, please come on by the Wailoa Center on Saturday between 9am and noon for our Lei Day Celebration! Lei Competition drop-off is between 8:30 and 9:30 am. We will have singing, hula, and a good fun family time! You can even bring some pot luck and join us for an early lunch if you like!
On Sunday, those sweet folks are kind enough to let me perform at the Palace Theater's Lei Day Extravaganza! Friends Aunty Nona Beamer, Kaliko Beamer-Trapp, Darlene Ahuna, Brittny Paiva (who early in her rapidly blooming career took a set at one of my gigs!), and Aukahi Pride perform at different times throughout the day. Organist Bob Alder and I will end the festivities with a sing-along of classic songs of the lei!
Hey - here's an idea - come to BOTH events! Learn the songs on Saturday, and you'll be ready to SING ALONG on SUNDAY!
