In the year 1993, SWV (Sisters With Voices), the trio who sold over 15
million records, including album and singles sales, once had 2 singles in
the TOP TEN of the Hot 100 Singles chart at the same time...
Well, NOW, our girls, Destiny's Child have done the same thing. They have
"Independent Women" at #7 and "Jumpin Jumpin" at #8 making them and SWV
the only R&B girl groups in history to have had 2 singles in the Hot 100
top 10 at the same time. They are both trend setters. It's a good thing
that DC is getting recognized for their accomplishments. SWV, however,
were not recognized.

Destiny's Child, now a trio, have embarked on yet another Billboard Hot 100 Singles Top 20 hit and an R&B Top 10 hit with their new single "Independent Women Part 1" from the soundtrack of "Charlies Angels" and their upcoming album "Independent Women. The song is getting alot of airplay all over the U.S. and to prove it, their are this weeks Greatest Gainer/Airplay on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. Their album "Writing's On The Wall" is holding a steady position at #29 and has sold over 6 million copies in the U.S. alone. More news to come...

Destiny's Child accomplished their first #1 Pop hit last year (1999) with 'Bills...'. Now, they are back again with their #1 Pop & R&B hit 'Say My Name'. It has sustained #1 for 3 weeks so far. Although the group is traveling without two of the orignal members (LeToya & LaTavia), they still have managed to grap that #1 spot.
