"My laptop was completely ruined when my office flooded. Even the hard disk was wrecked; but I didn't lose a single document."

Are You Ready For 'Not Ready?' "The stakes were definitely higher on that song. We knew it was special because it was so autobiographical, and we had to get it right," says The Dixie Chicks' Emily Robison about the trio's "Not Ready to Make Nice," a song which stems from bandmate Natalie Maines' headline-grabbing controversial comments about President George W. Bush and the subsequent tumult that ensued. "And once we had that song done, it freed us up to do the rest of the album without that burden."
"Not Ready to Make Nice" is the lead single from The Chicks' upcoming fourth album, Taking the Long Way, due in stores May 23. Rick Rubin produced the album, with all 14 tracks co-written by The Dixie Chicks, a first for them. Writing collaborators included Dan Wilson, Pete Yorn and Gary Louris of The Jayhawks.
To promote the album, Steve Croft will interview the girls on 60 Minutes on May 14. They will also play Late Show With David Letterman on May 22, appear on Good Morning America between May 22-25 and play live during the show on May 26. Also catch them when they appear on the CBS Early Show on the week of June 5. From there, The Dixie Chicks will kick off their summer-long worldwide tour.
