Grammy-nominated and winner of "Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key, Vol. 1," Grammy-winning ki ho'alu legend Ledward Ka'apana shows off the four decades worth of skills that won him a trip to the music industry's biggest dance tonight at the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Tropics Showroom. Also performing at the 5:30 p.m. "An Evening at the Tropics" concert are Holunape, Aaron Sala and Ginai.
The show is free to the public,

The Music Foundation of Hawaii presents the 1st annual Legacy Awards night 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mar. 16 at Waikiki Lau Yee Chai at the Waikiki Shopping Plaza. Tickets are $75. RSVP by purchasing tickets

Ledward Ka'apana 18-Feb-2006 Ledward Ka'apana, who won and lost at the Grammys (he was part of the winning compilation, but his solo ki ho'alu endeavor was snubbed), performs in
"An Evening at the Tropics" at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Tropics Showroom of the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Other troupers are Holunape, Aaron Sala and Ginai. Admission is free, and drinks and pupu will be available.

From The President of The HMA 16-Feb-2006 Aloha and Congratulations to the 9th Annual Hawaii Music Awards. The People's
Choice online voting was a fantastic success. Everything went up, the number
of entries, the number of voters and visitors to the site averaged about 1500 a day. This year's competition included 32 categories covering a gamut of categories, from jazz to Hawaiian, from slack key to Island contemporary. Johnny Kai, who founded the awards, said 47,000 visited the Web site to cast 10,000 votes from dozens of nations from around the world
