Honolulu's going to throw itself a party — a yearlong one. After all, she's 100 years old.
It starts July 1 with the sweet sound of 100 pu, the conch shell.
Incorporated on July 1, 1905, Honolulu must have been a bustling little seaport. It was a time of elegance, style and charm.
The women would be dressed in long, elegant dresses with bustles,
Carrying parasols.

SEATTLE - Twenty-five years ago, a News photographer had a hunch. Dave Crockett headed to Mount St. Helens, pretty sure that "something" was going to happen.
Crockett was there on May 18th, 1980, when the mountain blew it's top and he continued to film as he witnessed what he called "Hell on Earth."
On that Sunday morning, Crockett arrived to photograph a restless mountain that sill maintained its pristine, snow-capped peak.
"I really don't know how to describe it. It was just a feeling that something was going to happen," Crockett said.
