1963 is today considered a classic.
As
well as a classic example of a
network
not knowing how to properly
showcase a
legend.
By the time Garland began her
series,
she was already known as a "living
legend," and Judy hoped the series
would
give her financial security after years
of her money being mismanaged by
the
people handling her.
Sadly for Judy, this was not to be.

The Judy Garland Store 31-Aug-2000 MGM's film "Annie Get Your Gun," with Betty Hutton and Howard Keel is finally being released on VHS and DVD. Not only will it include the entire film, but also the footage done by Judy Garland prior to her being dropped from production!

FrancesGumm.com 26-May-2000 A pair of the Ruby Slippers sold yesterday (May 24) at the famed Christie's Auction House. The slippers, one of only four pairs known to exist, sold for $666,000! The buyer was a Mr. David Elkouby of Los Angeles.

Two things of note regarding Judy Garland/Wizard of Oz fans.
1 - May 24, 2000 Christie's East in NYC will be auctioning a pair of original ruby slippers. The estimates for the sale have been anywhere from $800,000 all the way up to $5,000,000! Keep your fingers crossed for what could be the highest price ever paid for a movie collectible. Also being sold that night will be the costume for the Cowardly Lion and several other Judy Garland items.
2 - The Library of Congress is going to have a 200 year anniversary celebration, and part of that event will be display of Wizard of O
