 All about... Laetitia Casta
In spite of the fact that she was born and grown in Normandie (her mother's region), Laetitia Casta feels completely corsian (her father's corsian).
Laetitia Casta has passed her teenager years in Lumio, a little village (1500 inhabitants) sited in the nortwestern side of Corsica, just 10 kms. away from Calvi city. In July 1995 she won "Miss Lumio" contest and at the age of 15 she was discovered in Arenella Beach in the vicinity of Lumio by a photographer launching her to fame.
She went to her first casting when she was 15 after leaving school and she was really frightened. She didn't want to be a model at all, but she realized that she knew how to be expressive and how to be the same person inside at the same time. The casting viewers were very surprised of Laetitia's short height and because she were still holding her school bag!. She didn't bring a photo book but a small notebook with a few Polaroid photos. When they saw that they broke off laughing.
Paul Marciano (GUESS inc. president) selected her for a marketing campaign in Jamaica in October 1994.
After a time she became "the GUESS girl" and when she was 18 she made her last work for the firm: "Stretch" en which she was taken photos by Dewey Nicks in Palm Beach and Laguna Beach,California.
She lives nowadays in Paris with her family (her parents, her brother and her little sister). Her mother is a strong and appasionate person while her father Dominique is very protective. When she has some free time she loves to travel a lot, cook with her mother and play with her sister.
