Johnny English Press-book (New Natalie Movie) [All about Natalie Imbruglia @ www.nataliefans.com]
Atkinson and Imbruglia shoothed some actions
scenes by their own. Under the supervision of the coordination specialist Paul Jennings Atkinson drove a Aston Martin DB7. He was alsos pent several hours hung of a cable of the ceiling of the cathedral of St. Albans(that in the film represents Westminster Abbey), in the scene that represents the climax of the film).
Imbruglia rolled with great effectiveness the scene in which she has to fight, insisting on making use as less as possible of her double. She also trained to drive such powerful moto Triumph, in spite of the reluctance of the film directors who saw with fear that the tiny artist tried to control a so powerful vehicle. But Imbruglia insisted on doing it. She tried first with one small one and soon she tried with the one of great piston displacement.
Jennings said: she did it so well that we allowed her to drive the Triumph... although we used one double one for the scenes of greater speed.
The actress said: fight scenes were fabulous. I do kickboxing in my free time and I was deligthed to be able of practicing it. Lorna is a personage very amused to interpret. I do of everything: I dance, I fight, I drive motos... What more can you ask to an Australian girl?
There is also more information about the film and the director says:
This is the first film of Natalie, but she had worked on television before becoming a pop star. We did a casting to many actresses but Natalie took the paper by her own merits. I mean, that we did not only give the role to her because we thought taht it would attract the adolescent public... although the certain fact is that probably it will be what happens
