The Times Newspaper in the United Kingdom recently reported about Tarkan, a noted pop singer who once reached number 8 in a Times Magazine survey in 1999, published in the US. In the ratings, Charles Aznavour ranked first, Elvis Presley came second and Charlie Chaplin ranked third. Tarkan notched up 118,639 points.

Pour ma seance quotidienne d'exercices devant la glace, j'ai fait l'acquisition d'un disque a la mode a Kazan. Le chanteur s'appelle Tarkan et son tube, qui me tient compagnie pendant mes seances d'assouplissements matinaux, porte le meme nom que son dernier album : "Dudu".
Tarkan est le plus chanteur a minettes de tous les chanteurs a minettes que l'on entendre en Russie. Electronica and trance group NullDevice were recently interviewed for Synthpop for the release of their new album "A Million Different Moments" where they explained how Tarkan had affected their own musical journey.
"I am completely hooked on Turkish pop sensation Tarkan...many of his tracks are this just insane mixture of Turkish folk music, western pop music, and club music, and I love it deeply.

Tarkan Tevetoglu was born in Germany in 1972, but returned with his parents to Turkey at the age of 15 to pursue an education in classical music. His first CD 'Yine Sensiz' (Without You Again) was released four years later.
In Istanbul, he studied classical music and worked in clubs and discotheques until, at the age of 19, the good-looking singer/songwriter released his debut album, "Yine Sensiz", which sold over 700,000 copies. Follow-up albums, such as "Ölürüm Sana" and "Tarkan", sold several million each and confirmed his superstar status.
