"My laptop was completely ruined when my office flooded. Even the hard disk was wrecked; but I didn't lose a single document."

THE Liz Dawn Star Spectacular – a bonanza for Coronation Street fans – is preparing to take another star-spangled Leeds curtain call. For the fifth year, Liz Dawn is presenting the show at the Grand Theatre in Leeds, and Sunday May 23, will be a special night for lucky fans with tickets, who will will be treated to music, song, dance and comedy by many of their TV soap favourites. The show's producer, Peter Shaw, said: "People are still talking about the sell-out successes of our previous shows at the Grand. We're back for the fifth time to present an even more exciting and ever-changing spectacular, and tickets will be at a premium. "We will be bringing back some old favourites such as Bruce Jones who plays loveable rogue Les Battersby. He will again be singing with his band, but this time, for one night, only our tap dancers will include Iain Rogerson, who plays Harry Flag, Susie Blake who plays Bev Unwin, and Wendi Peters, Les Battersby's girl friend Cilla. "Those who have seen the shows before will remember a comedy piece we do with five of the cast called Computerisation, which was created by Roy Hudd. It is so popular with the audience that we daren't leave it out of the show. Last time the audience were literally cheering by the end of it." "In addition to our own cast, as always, we have asked some friends from the variety theatre to be with us. "Many of our audience will remember the fabulous Tiller Girls from Sunday Night at the London Palladium. They may be a little older now but their high-kicks are still spectacular. "We will also have speciality act, Andrew Van Buren. He has performed his breath-taking juggling and plate-spinning many times on television." He added: "Eileen Grimshaw, Fiz Brown and Kirk Sutherland are all going to delight us with their comic performances. In fact, for one item we are bringing a ten-foot long Punch and Judy box from Manchester. The puppets will of course, be our cast, but you will have to guess who will be playing who. "Liz Dawn has become something of an icon, so for many people one of the highlights of the evening is seeing her sing. She had many years of experience around the clubs before becoming an actress, so, backed by our large orchestra, she will take full command of the stage. "I am always looking out for hidden talent among our cast and have recently discovered that Bill Ward, builder Charlie Stubbs, plays jazz clarinet, so we have invited him to perform. Tickets are available from the Leeds Grand Theatre box office.
